Located where the scenic Southern Cascades bump into the gentle Northern Sierras, the Mile High 100 will treat you to an exciting day on the back roads that wander through the lush green forests surrounding Lake Almanor & Indian Valley. Breathtaking views of Mt. Lassen & scenic vistas await you, as you travel around Lake Almanor, the blue water gem of Northern California.
This is not a race, but a collection of tours for cyclists of all abilities. Choose your ride (all with breathtaking views of Lake Almanor & Mt. Lassen): Century (108 miles), Metric (56 miles), or Half Metric (33 miles).
Century Ride (108 miles) - A relatively easy ride by century standards takes you up for a spectacular view of Mt Lassen, around Lake Almanor & through the peaceful Indian Valley. Elevation climb: ~3,200 feet. [Century riders are rewarded with a catered luncheon in Taylorsville, at the halfway point]
Metric Century (56 miles) -This ride encompasses the entire Lake Almanor basin. It is recommended for those who desire a challenging loop without the distance & bigger climbs of the full Century. Elevation climb: ~1,500 feet.
Half Metric Century (33 miles) - Take your time & enjoy the picturesque mountain vistas & clean air. This is a route that offers a nice leisurely ride via lakeside around Lake Almanor, the blue jewel on the North Fork of the Feather River. Elevation climb: ~600 feet
