| Details: | Allen Shain was born in Portland, Oregon, and studied with several notable Bay Area figurative and narrative painters. He has an MFA from San Jose State University and has been painting for over 30 years. Allen works in oil, acrylic, watercolor and wood.
His studio is in the original See's Candy building in San Francisco. He teaches private painting workshops, as well as classes at City College of San Francisco.
"Allen's paintings are balanced in the poetry of the moment and lodged between harmony and chaos."
