Details:Guest Speaker: Dr. Richard Harris
CONVERSITY: Changing the Conversation on Race
Dr. Harris broke free from his life as a Grand Dragon of the KKK in Indiana. Richard C. Harris, Ed.D. is an accomplished speaker in the areas of leadership, education, diversity, and race relations. As a young man he rose quickly to leadership positions in the KKK until he was the Grand Dragon of the KKK, running the largest underground terrorist organization in the Midwest in the mid- to late-1970s. Eventually, Dr. Harris broke free of his terrorism and ended the curse over himself and his family. Thirty years later, he shares his story in his new book, One Nation Under CURSE. Dr. Harris captivates his audiences with stories they’ll never hear anywhere else and challenges them with lessons he’s learned on his journey from racism, bigotry, and prejudice to acceptance, love, and tolerance. He is a Southeastern University professor, pastor, and civil rights/social justice activist. He has adopted the motto, “If it is not justice for all, it is not justice at all.”
