The widely known EN PLEIN AIRart show and sale in VICTOR is scheduled for the 18th year over the Labor Day weekend. It is set to draw one of the largest crowds of spectators into
the small historic mining town in many years. A treat is in store for history buffs, art lovers, families, tourists and gamblers. Art galleries, freshly made baked goods, small diners, antique shops and museums provide opportunities for browsing and shopping as well.
Dozens of artists from around the country gather to capture the essence of the lively, authentic 1890's gold mining community in the week prior to the show. From the historic structures and remnants of hard rock gold mining days to the magnificent scenery of the Sangre de Christo Range, inspiration is everywhere. Hundreds of paintings are created on location within 10 miles of the Victor City Hall just 7 days before the show. Special art-related events include the BRUSH RUSH timed competition, Sunday, Sept 3, 9am - noon and the Wallace Park QUICK DRAW (with bin sales) 9am -noon
The 2017 schedule is Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2 and 3, 9am- 5pm, Monday, Sept. 4, 9-1pm. The show and sale are in the upstairs ballroom on the Elks Lodge, 3rd St and Diamond Ave.
