Private applicator pesticide exam prep
UF/IFAS Extension Polk County will hold exam preps for the Core and Private pesticide applicator exams on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Polk County Extension office, located at 1702 Hwy. 17-98 South, Bartow, Florida, 33830. Extension programs are provided through cooperation between Polk County Board of County Commissioners and the University of Florida IFAS on a non-discriminatory basis.
The Private applicator pesticide license is required in order to use restricted use pesticides for production of an agricultural product. The Core exam is required in order to earn the Private applicator license in addition to many other pesticide licenses. Worker Protection Standards Train the Trainer
UF/IFAS Extension Polk County will hold training to prepare Worker Protection Standards trainers on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Polk County Extension office, located at 1702 Hwy. 17-98 South, Bartow, Florida, 33830. Extension programs are provided through cooperation between Polk County Board of County Commissioners and the University of Florida IFAS on a non-discriminatory basis.
Worker Protection Standards are a set of federal requirements to protect agricultural workers and pesticide handlers from pesticide exposure. Significant changes to the regulations became effective January 1, 2017 and this training is now an annual requirement for those responsible for worker and handler training. Those completing the trainer will receive a certificate to conduct training to comply with updated regulations.
