Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce - Event Information

Event Name:Stewardship, Faith and Community Decision-Making
Event Type(s):Community Event
Description:Susan Hendershot Guy, Executive Director of Iowa Interfaith Power and Light, will present, "Stewardship, Faith and Community Decision-Making:  How Consumer-Owned Utilities Can Reflect Member Values and Priorities," Monday, November 27, at 7:00 p.m. at Luther College, Valders Hall of Science Room 362.

Her presentation is part of a Decorah Power Learning Series designed to investigate the opportunities and challenges involved in a Decorah municipal electric utility—a locally owned, city utility that would provide electricity services in the same way it provides water and sewer services. With the support of the City Council, local citizens group Decorah Power is conducting a feasibility study with privately-raised funds. The study is expected to be completed before the end of the year. For more information about Decorah Power see
