| Description: | This event is sure to be as spectacular as last year's. On Friday, November 13, Dolores Hydock will perform "A Christmas Memory" in the famous Old Courtroom. Following the performance, we'll have a fabulous fruitcake reception and party. During the party, a silent auction will be held of unique fruitcakes made by famous chefs paired with rare editions of "A Christmas Memory."
The festival is in conjunction with Mockingbird Market, an annual holiday festival held on the downtown square. Fruitcakes made by the ladies of Monroeville are packaged for sale in unique Capote tins. These sumptuous treats make perfect Christmas gifts. Tickets for the event are $25. During the Fruitcake Festival & Mockingbird Market on Friday beginning at 11:00 am,Chef Scott Wilson, CEC, AAC will be performing cooking demonstrations on the lawn of the Old Courthouse Museum in conjunction with the Fruitcake
Festival and Mockingbird Market. His demonstration will encompass holiday party appropriate foods. Admission is free and samples will be available.Wilson is a former resident of Monroeville and he is a 30-year veteran with the food service industry. Wilson is now a personal chef with Healthy Home
Cooking. His cookbooks will also be available for purchase.
