(phone: 925 932-9910) | | Details: | LAFAYETTE, CA, October 30th, 2009 - The Stratford at Countrywood, the East Bay’s premier senior living community, will open its doors to the public to share samples of seasonal dishes and spirits from top Bay Area Chefs, Brew Masters and Vineyards on Saturday, November 14th, 2009, from 2:30- 5:00 p.m. A Food Bank donation of cash or canned goods is suggested for admission.
This special event is made possible by the generous donations and support of Chow Restaurant, Postino Restaurant, Genova Deli & Ravioli Factory, Black Diamond Brewery, Katrina Rozelle Pastries & Desserts, and Lunardi’s Market and Deli.
Harvest Tasting guests are invited to stroll through the public areas of The Stratford, including the Fox and Hound Lounge, Queens Parlor, and the elegant Grand View Parlor with sweeping views of Mount Diablo. Tasting stations will be located throughout the three story building with music provided by pianist, Gary Neuman. A holiday gift boutique and jewelry exhibit will be open for holiday shopping, and a special fall buffet of seasonal treats will be provide d by The Stratford’s Chef, Lisa Lee. There will be a special drawing for gifts donated by HBO (Home Box Office) and Lundardi’s Market.
Tasting tables will include the following:
Chow Restaurant, with locations in San Francisco’s Castro and Sunset District, Lafayette and Danville, will feature its seasonal specialty, Pumpkin Gelato.
Postino Restaurant, located in Lafayette, will feature a hearty harvest vegetable and pasta soup.
Genova Deli and Ravioli Factory, one of Walnuts Creek’s most famous establishment rich in history, will feature its seasonal pumpkin ravioli in rosemary cream sauce.
Lunardi’s Deli and Market, with locations in Walnut Creek, Danville, Belmont, Burlingame, Los Gatos, and San Jose, will feature a wild rice salad with dried cranberry’s and mango, and select California Wine.
Black Diamond Brewery, Bay Area winner of multiple national brewing competitions for handcrafted ales, will feature its Belgian inspired Winter Ale.
Katrina Rozelle Pastries and Desserts, Nationally Acclaimed Pastry Chef with locations in Danville and Berkeley, will feature a perfectly spiced Pumpkin Cheesecake marbled with Crème Fraiche atop a cinnamon crust.
The Stratford’s Harvest Tasting is a unique opportunity to enjoy an array of fine foods from the best Bay Area establishments.
