Description:“Join us for mystery and intrigue at the museum during a ‘Heritage of Darkness Tour,’” invites Karla Brown, Development Events Coordinator at Vesterheim, the national Norwegian-American Museum and Heritage Center. Vesterheim is offering a guided tour adventure on Nov. 10 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. for fans of Kathleen Ernst’s Chloe Ellefson Mystery Series.
           
Ernst’s fourth book in the series, “Heritage of Darkness,” is set at Vesterheim Museum, so this special tour is a chance to see Vesterheim artifacts and buildings featured in the mystery.
           
The tour includes museum admission; a guided tour to see Vesterheim artifacts and buildings featured in the mystery; the special presentation “Norwegian Courtship & Betrothal Gifts” by woodworker Rebecca Hanna; and a treat break with Norwegian sweets mentioned in the book.

Rebecca Hanna is a woodworker and teacher at Vesterheim’s Folk Art School. Her presentation will focus on Norwegian woodworking traditions connected to courtship and betrothal, which are featured in the “Heritage of Darkness” mystery by Ernst.
           
Award-winning writer Kathleen Ernst is the bestselling author of 37 published mysteries, historical fiction, and non-fiction history books for adults and young readers. The Chloe Ellefson series includes nine stories and combines history and mystery with a little bit of romance.
           
Ernst has a Masters Degree in History Education and Writing from Antioch University. She earned an Emmy while working for Wisconsin Public Television. Before that she spent over a decade as a curator at the State Historical Society of Wisconsin's Old World Wisconsin outdoor history museum.
