“Join us for mystery and intrigue at the museum during a ‘Heritage of Darkness Tour,’” invites Karla Brown, Development Events Coordinator at Vesterheim, the national Norwegian-American Museum and Heritage Center. Vesterheim is offering a guided tour adventure on Nov. 10 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. for fans of Kathleen Ernst’s Chloe Ellefson Mystery Series.
Ernst’s fourth book in the series, “Heritage of Darkness,” is set at Vesterheim Museum, so this special tour is a chance to see Vesterheim artifacts and buildings featured in the mystery.
The tour includes museum admission; a guided tour to see Vesterheim artifacts and buildings featured in the mystery; the special presentation “Norwegian Courtship & Betrothal Gifts” by woodworker Rebecca Hanna; and a treat break with Norwegian sweets mentioned in the book.
1:00 - 4:00 PM
Vesterheim Museum 520 W. Water Street Decorah, IA 52101
“Spoiler alert—read the book in advance,” Brown said. The ending will be revealed during the tour.
The tour is $20 per person. Reservations are due November 3, 2018. To sign up, contact Karla Brown at 563-382-9681 x107, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rebecca Hanna is a woodworker and teacher at Vesterheim’s Folk Art School. Her presentation will focus on Norwegian woodworking traditions connected to courtship and betrothal, which are featured in the “Heritage of Darkness” mystery by Ernst.
