Matt Vee & The Killer Vees Bring to Bring the Music of Neil Diamond to Chatfield
On Saturday, November 10, Potter Auditorium at Chatfield Center for the Arts will be filled with the music of the legendary Neil Diamond, brought to life by the one and only Matt Vee along with family and friends who make up The Killer Vees in "I Am, HE Said".
Chatfield Center for the Arts 405 Main St S Chatfield, MN 55923
Matt Vee along with cousins Jeff and Tommy Vee, local music scene veterans and sons of the legendary Bobby Vee, join forces with their family and friends as The Killer Vees to celebrate the music from a timeless catalog. With songs like "Cracklin' Rosie," "Song Sung Blue," and "Sweet Caroline,” Neil Diamond sold over 100 million records worldwide with music that became the soundtrack to one generation after another with hits spanning five decades. As a Tin Pan Alley song writer in the mid 60s, he penned songs recorded by everyone from Elvis Presley to Deep Purple and, of course, the Monkee’s classic, “I’m A Believer.”
The show is a celebration of an amazing musical icon, one that the Vees love and respect. Many of them have been fans since they were in grade school, learning their respective instruments and playing many of Diamond's tunes over the years in various bands. They have recruited an incredible group of singers and players in The Killer Vees.
Joining The Killer Vees will be Matt Vee’s wife Julie Velline on vocals, veteran Minnesota musicians Mark Levandowski, Kurt Rodman, Boyd Lee, Dennis Kennedy and Dr. Frank Plachecki. Members Of The Killer Vees have recorded or performed with: Bobby Vee, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Tim Rice, Ronnie Wood, Mick Taylor, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fabian, The Shirelles, The Chiffons, Brian Hyland, Johnny Tillotson, Nelson, Peter Noone, Bill Medley, The Johnny Holm Band, GB Leighton and MANY others.
