Decorah community members to present on PLAY
Community Event Art Performances & Education Calendar
What does the word PLAY mean to you? Does it make you think of theater, children on a slide, or the button in the middle of the remote control? These are just some of the topics that may be covered in the Pecha Kucha event put on by ArtHaus on Friday, November 16. From 8:00 - 10:00 pm attendees will learn and be entertained by community members who are volunteering to participate and share what they think of when they hear the word "Play".
Pecha Kucha, which translates to Chit-Chat, is a Japanese presentation style where 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each, equaling a less than 7 minute presentation (6 minutes and 40 seconds to be exact) with an additional question and answer section at the end of every presentation. These events are fast paced and fun, and by making use of time restraints and interesting topics Pecha Kucha seeks to entertain the audience while offering a fun challenge to the presenters.
This second Pecha Kucha of the year will be held at Rubaiyat restaurant and will cost $5-$10 (your choice). You may purchase tickets in advance at arthausdecorah.org or at the door. Some of the upcoming presenters include Jay Raabe, Lauren Bonney, and Toby Cain.
