Details:The Chamber Civic Affairs Committee serves as the policy advisory committee to the Chamber Board of Directors and provides the opportunity to weigh in on issues important to you, your business, other Chamber members and the City of Walnut Creek.

One of the Committee goals is to discuss timely subjects that are important to Walnut Creek and where the Chamber may want to take an advocacy position. Guests include leaders in business, non-profit and service organizations, as well as local and state officials.

Topics slated for 2011/2012 include: Supervisorial Redistricting, Shadelands Land Use, Downtown Parking, Pertinent Issues in the Upcoming Election, Economic Development in Walnut Creek and Measure A Height Limits among others.

The Committee now meets on the fourth Friday of the month from 7:45 to 9:00am in the Chamber conference room: 1777 Botelho Drive, Suite 103, Walnut Creek.

Fiscal Cliff - August 24
Special Guest Dick Castner, Executive Director of the U.S.Chamber of Commerce Western Regional Office. Castner will address the "fiscal cliff" being discussed in Washington regarding the sunset of the Bush-era tax cuts scheduled for the end of this year.
