DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Coping with Holiday Grief=0D=0A=0D=0ADate:=0D=0A11/04/09=0D=0A=0D=0ADescription:=0D=0AThe holiday season – that time from Thanksgiving to New Year’s – is a time to give thanks, to rejoice and spread good cheer. For many, however, the holidays can be a time of grief. =0D=0A=0D=0ADetails:=0D=0AHospice of the East Bay is offering a workshop for people who have experienced the death of a loved one, and find the holiday season to be a sad and stressful time of the year. It will be offered at Hospice’s administrative offices: 3470 Buskirk Avenue, Pleasant Hill and at 350 John Muir Parkway, Brentwood.

· Pleasant Hill Wednesday, 7:00 – 900 p.m.. November 4, 2009
· Brentwood Tuesday, 10:00 – 12:00 p.m., November 10, 2009

“In our society, so much emphasis is placed on gifts and glitter that there is an enormous amount of heightened expectation, making it difficult for anyone to admit they hurt,” says Lee Ann Morgan, Manager of hospice’s Center for Grief and Loss. “Coping with the Holidays provides a forum for people to share concerns and ideas and learn helpful, positive ways to manage holiday grief.”

This workshop is offered for a fee and requires pre-registration. The fee is waived for those who cannot afford it. For further information, and/or to register, please call: (925) 887-5681.

Established in 1977, Hospice of the East Bay is a not-for-profit agency that helps people cope with life-threatening illnesses by providing medical, emotional, spiritual, and practical support for patients and families, regardless of their ability to pay.
