Board President's Memo

Half of the year has gone by and it’s time to start thinking about the Board leadership for the Chamber. Marisol Carvajal-Garcia is the Board President –Elect and in accordance with the Chamber By-Laws, a nominations committee was established to replace five out-going board members. The committee consists of myself, Marisol Carvajal-Garcia, Dr. Grace Everett, Rick Del Bosque and Executive Director Juan Navejar. Our role will be to find individuals who will continue guiding the Chamber. We have a great staff and with a strong board the sky is the limit.

We have seen an increase in telephone calls, walk-ins and more inquiries about Alice. We should see increase traffic as well with the hiring of the new Interim EDC Director JJ Johnston. On behalf of the board of directors we welcome JJ Johnston. He has been a part of the EDC for a while doing contract work for them.

Finally, we will all the students the best as they head back to school this month. Don’t forget the Tax Free Weekend on Aug. 05-07 and remember to Shop Alice.
