AHS Culinary students compete in Cook-off

Alice High School Culinary Arts class competed in the Second Annual HS State Cook off in Burnet, Texas. The team was sponsored and mentored by local Chamber member Rolle’s BBQ.
The two teams, Charlies Flaming Five and Chop Like its Hot placed in the top five in several events to include brisket, chicken and ribs categories.  Chop Like its Hot won grand champion with its dessert, a pecan apple cobbler made in a tradition Dutch oven.
The class is taught by Barbara Garcia. Mentors were Rojelio and Rolle Cuellar.
