Board President's Memo

Half of the year has gone by and it’s time to start thinking about the Board leadership for the Chamber. Bertha Rodriguez is the Board President –Elect and in accordance with the Chamber By-Laws, a nominations committee was established to replace five out-going board members. The committee consists of myself, Bertha Rodriguez, R. David Guerrero, Bobby Galindo, Chamber members Rick Del Bosque, David Silva and Executive Director Juan Navejar. Our role will be to find individuals who will continue guiding the Chamber. We have a great staff and with a strong board the sky is the limit.
During the July board meeting, the board is in the process of establishing a Social Media policy for the staff, board and ambassadors. These guidelines will be set in place once approved by board to help with the ever-growing social media.  
We invite golfers to our annual golf tournament on August 5^th at the Alice Municipal Golf course. This is a three-person scramble with cash payouts.
Finally, we will all the students the best as they head back to school this month. Don’t forget the Tax Free Weekend on Aug. 11-13 and remember to Shop Alice.
