The year is going by too fast before you know it my term as board president will come to an end. A good indication of this is the nomination of the five new board members who will take office in January.

As per our Chamber By-Laws, a nominations committee was formed in July and reported in August their slate of new board members for a three-year term. The five were presented to the board of directors and approved for nomination to the general membership. The five nominated are Sandra Bowen, LJA Engineering; Debra Brooks, Edward Jones, Joey Riojas, Wells Fargo Bank; Rodrigo Rodriguez, Walgreens, Rumaldo Soliz, Boys & Girls Club of Alice Board of Directors; . The names are being sent to the general membership for approval before being confirmed by the board of directors during their September meeting. Board president elect Ike Ornelas will appoint three one-year board members during the January 2013 meeting.
