From the Board President

Ike Ornelas

We continue with the next resolution, which are the goals to engage wisdom by learning how to apply the right principles at the right time.
These resolutions are grouped into these categories: Private, Public and Leadership Achievements.
This month we talk about leadership...I resolve to practice the art and science of leadership.
Leadership is not a constant thing it ebbs and flows in every organization depending on the character and competence of the individual leaders who are choreographing the organizations efforts.
Ask twenty people exactly what leadership is and you may get twenty different answers. No matter how you define or describe it though, everyone knows when leadership is present and when it is not.
Just a reminder our Annual Summer Golf Classic is coming up next month. Thanks go out to all our ad and hole sponsors as well as our Hole-In-One sponsors Wells Fargo Bank and Cantu Chevrolet and our Meal Sponsor River City Hospice.
The Lucien Flournoy Old Fashion Barbecue is coming together. The committee made of Chairperson Kevin Downes and members Paul Rycroft, Sue Murdoch and Juan Navejar are meeting regularly to give us another great event. The BBQ is set for Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the JWC Fairgrounds with guest speaker Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples.
