Old Fashion BBQ draws crowd

Two great speakers enlightened a nice crowd about the future of the oil and gas industry for South Texas during the Lucien Flournoy Old Fashion Barbecue last month.

This year’s speakers were Christopher Moore of Raven Petroleum and Omar Garcia, President of the South Texas Energy & Economic Roundtable (STEER).

“We understand what South Texas needs and what our direction has to be in order to turn things around,” Garcia said. “South Texas has a hot spot for natural gas and its location sits ideal for future growth to the port of Laredo, Corpus Christi and the Rio Grand Valley.”

Christopher Moore is the Founding Member of Raven Resources, LLC, a petroleum project development firm. Raven Resources is currently developing multiple petroleum processing projects in Texas, Latin American and Caribbean countries.

“We are still finalizing plans for the ground breaking of Raven but will be a prime company in dealing with Mexico oil and gas,” Moore said.
He previously founded Spectrum Sourcing Group, Ltd. (Indigo Petroleum Terminal LLC’S parent company) and assembled a team of specialists to develop transload terminals servicing the expanding crude oil midstream market with a focus on crude by barge, pipeline, rail, and tanker vessels.

Omar Garcia facilitates communication, education and public advocacy surrounding the productions of energy resource in South Texas. An experienced industry leader, Garcia is an expert on business opportunities associated with the Eagle Ford Shale.

Garcia works directly with the oil and natural gas industry, local officials, community members, regional stakeholders, educational institutions and economic development organizations to ensure that the oil and natural gas industry in South Texas is advancing in a positive way that is mutually beneficial to both the community and the industry.
The BBQ is sponsored by the Alice Chamber of Commerce.
