Half of the year has gone by and it’s time to start thinking about the Board leadership for the 2019 Chamber year. Mellie Smithwick is the Board President –Elect and in accordance with the Chamber By-Laws, a nominations committee will be established to nominate five new board members. Their role will be to find individuals who will continue guiding the Chamber. We have a great staff and with a strong board the sky is the limit.

The Annual Golf Tourney was very successful and we like to thank all our Hole and ad sponsors, players and especially our Hole-In-One sponsor Stewart Title and our Lunch sponsor Guaranty Title & Abstract. Thank you all who donated items for the raffle and the goody bags as well.

A couple of board members and our executive director attended the Texas Coastal Bend Regional Tourism Council (TCBRTC) Expo and received Customer Service Training Certificates along with additional training on the use of the Hotel Occupancy Tax in Beeville last month. Look forward to in sharing some of the insights they learned with our membership.

Finally, we will all the students the best as they head back to school this month. Don’t forget the Tax Free Weekend on Aug. 10-12.
