The year is going by too fast before you know it my term as board president will come to an end. A good indication of this is the nomination of the five new board members who will take office in January.
As per our Chamber By-Laws, a nominations committee will be appointed this month with their mission to nominate a slate of new board members for a three-year term.  Once the committee presents their slate to the board for approval the names will be sent to the general membership for approval before being confirmed by the board of directors. Board president elect Mellie Smithwick will appoint three one-year board members during the January 2019 meeting.
The Chamber staff is working on the Old Fashion Barbecue that is coming up in November. The committee will announce this year’s guest speaker and set a date this month. If you are interested in being a sponsor, contact Juan or Noemi for more information.
