Alice native Dr. Sandroussi to speak at Old Fashioned BBQ

The Annual Lucien Flournoy Old Fashion Barbecue is set for Thursday, November 29, 2018 with Dr. Michael J. Sandroussi, Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend as its guest speaker.   
 
Dr. Michael John Sandroussi is the President of the Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend which is located in Corpus Christi, Texas.  As the NCCER Primary Administrator & Master Trainer, Michael oversees the operations of a large national training center that implements craft instructional programs of study that are aligned with entry level careers in industry.  Strong partnerships with the Texas Workforce Commission, Industry Contractors, Plants, State Entities, Public Education and Community Colleges have been established in order to assist in producing an educated and drug free craftsman that will perform under the highest professional standards. 
 
Michael joined the Craft Training Center in July 2011 after serving 29 years as a mathematics instructor, campus principal and superintendent of schools throughout the Coastal Bend and Rio Grande Valley.  He also spent three years working for FESCO in Alice, Texas and is familiar with oil field operations. A first generation American, Dr. Sandroussi believes that the key to success is attaining a formal quality education.  He believes that education has been redefined to include post-secondary education, military, craft training and or skills training in specific fields of study that are aligned with a careers.
 
Dr. Sandroussi is a 1976 graduate of Alice High School
 
The Old Fashion Barbecue is an invitation only event organized by the Chamber of Commerce and serves an information gathering for its members and guest. Event sponsorship is $500 and allows each sponsor to invite 16 people to the event.
The Old Fashion Barbecue is set for Thursday, November 29th at the Jim Wells County Fairgrounds Merchants Building and begins at 6:30 p.m.
