Education is the key to growing our business community

Changing how we train our youths and changing the way we teach is the foundation we need to improve on Dr. Michael Sandroussi, President of the Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend said during the Old Fashion Barbecue sponsored by the Alice Chamber of Commerce.

“It’s about changing how we train now that will help the community grow,” Dr. Sandroussi said. “We have to train them better and change how students think is the key to succeeding in this economy.”

This was a positive message for those who work, support or prosper from the oil and gas industry as well as other businesses in the Alice community.

Training students properly will be key as Sandroussi said changes in the oil and gas industry are beginning to change.

“Look for the Eagle Ford Shale to come back soon,” he said. “We have a positive outlook that will change our economic growth.”

The event was organized by the Alice Chamber of Commerce. Event sponsors were Advanced Dental Carle, Alice ISD, Alice Management Company, Carlisle Insurance, CHRISTUS Spohn Alice, City of Alice, Coastal Bend College, Craft Training Center, DeLaune Drilling, EnDyn, First Community Bank, First State Bank of San Diego, Jim Wells County, Kleberg Bank, Lagarto Rental Tools, LJA Engineering, PlainsCapital Bank, Prosperity Bank and Texas Champion Bank.
