Seek soaring sales and secured assets?

Buzzards are scavengers that will devour what’s left of an ailing business or attack the vulnerable. Whenever you see buzzards circling you instinctually look downward searching for their prized meal. Roadkill is a treat for not only for The Clampett’s and buzzards, but for all that profit on others misfortunes. That’s what you call “the last straw”. You might be done if buzzards are circling, so you needn’t read any further.

Don’t swim with the sharks if your business is bleeding. They too, are waiting for the chance to take a big bite. Quit dangling your hemorrhaging ASSets overboard because you’re not smart enough to know how to appropriately protect them.

If you’re in the bush country and a big brown bear charges, play dead! This is the only time it’s okay to curl up in a fetal position; otherwise you look foolish and show your vulnerability. I know there are days at work where you feel like curling up and playing dead, but don’t. Fake it, until you make it, or better yet – get help!

Your brain power and a rock-solid plan of action will be the only tools you have when up against any formidable beast. Would you go into the bush of Alaska, without knowing what to do should you come face to face with a giant coastal brown? I hope not, as your gruesome photos will soon be on the internet for all to see.

Business owners are leaving themselves wide open for others educated in ways to do ‘em in. You’re lucky if you remain unscathed without the necessary updated employee handbooks, human resource support, safety programs, risk management practices, and cohesive business plans in place. Someday you’re going to find yourself up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

To be successful in business, with soaring sales in the 21st century the blood, sweat, and tears (hard work) of yesterday is still important, but no longer a key factor. Now you need all the intelligence and outside help you can find to keep your business vibrant and out of the jaws of death. You’ve got to be ahead of the curve and not weighed down by unproductive tasks. Delegate your way to the top, with caution!

You feel a certain level of trust within your personnel and the other people you work with, don’t you? Why is that? Is it because they’re telling you the things you want to hear and can fog-up a mirror? I wonder how many people reading this article have ever been divorced. Your ex sure had you fooled, right?

Don’t trust your staff blindly; ensure your faith in them is well-founded through significant training in areas to bolster your bottom line and skilled personnel management procedures and policies. One of the ways you can ensure employees don’t cross the line and work proactively as a team is to have effective job descriptions, appropriate disciplinary plans of action and other HR policies in place. All companies must have updated employee handbooks. I could go into a very long list of employee worksite laws. I won’t, as its way too boring - albeit way too important not to know and address in your place of business. If you have employees it’s imperative to have access to a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) for employee issues that arise and for proper worksite policies and procedures.

Get off the predator’s menu. If you can’t afford to hire professionals, then find well-educated mentors, such as; successful business leaders, CPA’s, and certified PHR’s, or outsource your non-revenue generating duties to partners with sterling references. Validate potential outsourcing service provider’s credentials to ensure you’re in the best hands.

If you don’t have highly trained personnel to handle employee risk management or if you’re looking at a hefty expense for payroll software – stop now and outsource it for less.

It’s hard to tell how serious things might get until you get bit!

Large companies with HR expertise in house implement a full scope of HR initiatives to maximize employee productivity, avoid costly problems, and ultimately increase and protect profits. Smaller companies, without that expertise, are at a competitive disadvantage. A PEO (Professional Employer Organization) firm brings that value to smaller companies at a small fraction of the investment of them doing it on their own.
