Happy New Year. I am Michael V. Garcia. It is with great pleasure to serve as this year’s board president. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Servando Garza Jr. for serving as board president in 2011. Also, I would like to wish our out-going board members Virginia Menking, Gap Alaniz, Dee Dee Arismendez, Hector Hinojosa and Paul Rycroft the best and thank them for their dedication to the Chamber and serving on the board.

I wish new board members, Ike Ornelas, Mark Dominguez, Mary Macareno, Ted Bearden, and Nena Pitts a warm welcome to the board. Our first meeting of the year have us approving the Chamber and CVB 2012 budgets, appointing vice-presidents and committees.

This year marks the Chamber’s 75th Anniversary which will be celebrated at the annual banquet in March. Applications for Citizen of the Year are now available at the Chamber. We will be selling sponsor tables as well which sell pretty fast. We are working on the guest speaker and should have someone confirmed soon. We will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
We look to have a successful year and wish all of you the best in 2012.
