Chamber sponsors Kelly Miller Circus

Send in the clowns, tigers, elephants and trapeze artists as the circus is coming to Alice. The Alice Chamber of Commerce presents for the second year in a row the Kelly Miller Circus on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Jim Wells County Fairgrounds.
“Last year, the circus debut in Alice and we had a great turnout for being the first time the Chamber hosts this circus,” Executive Director Juan Navejar said. “We wanted to bring it back as it was a great family event for the young and young-at-heart.”
Kelly Miller Circus was established in 1938 and has entertained millions of American and Canadian audiences while establishing itself a premiere American Tented Circus.
The show travels on a fleet of 25 vehicles and requires an area of some 90,000 square feet to set up on. The circus big top, imported from Italy, has a seating capacity of 1500 and is made of waterproof vinyl. The circus has gathered a galaxy of stars from many nations, as well as an exotic display of animals, enhanced them with beautiful theatrical lighting and lively circus music for a performance to warm hearts of young and old alike.
From the early morning hours, when the elephants pull the big top into the air to the very moment when the king pole races to the ground at the end of the day, the public is invited to come early and be a part of the magic of “Circus Day” as it has been experienced for over 200 years!
Discount tickets are being sold at the Alice Chamber of Commerce. Adult tickets are $10 and children 12 and under are $6. Children under 2 years of age are free. Show times are 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
