Chamber offers Summer Lunch Series Seminars

Juan A. Navejar Jr.

The Summer Lunch Series program sponsored by the Alice Chamber of Commerce is wrapping up its five-week stint.
“This year we’ve offered a variety of topics that have brought different groups to our luncheons,” Summer Lunch Series organizer Veronica Castillo said. “We wanted to offer different topics that would attract a more diverse group.”
The lunch program featured guest speakers each Tuesday at the Alice Chamber of Commerce board room and some at the Alice Country Club. Topics have included Healthcare Reform, Homeland Security, Smoke Free Policies and Violence is not the Answer. The final session is Healthy Living on Tuesday, August 7th at noon at the Chamber. Our presenters/sponsors have been from Heavin & Associates, Border Patrol, Migrant Health, Alice Echo-News Journal and Megan Hogan.
The Tuesday noon luncheons averaged some 24 people per session.
The brown bag luncheons are free to the public and run from Noon to 1 p.m.
