Where did the year go. This is my last month as the Chamber Board President and what a great year it has been for the Chamber.
We began the remodeling of the building thanks to Ike and the staff getting the ball rolling. The conference room has been completely renovated and looks fantastic. Our roof had not been touched in quite some time and we found out we had some repairing to do as well. That is now complete. We will begin the outside work this month and the painting of the building to be followed by the landscaping and the parking lot in January or so.
This year, the Chamber saw some great strides as they get more financially sound than in years past. Our financial outlook looks great thanks to some great management by the Juan and Veronica. We had some very successful events this year with the Annual Banquet, Summer Golf Tournament and the Old Fashioned Barbecue. Speaking of golf tournament, we postponed the winter tourney from December 1st to January 12th at the Alice Country Club.
To our out-going board members, I thank you for your service and commitment to the Chamber and the board. I welcome all the new board members who will be seated during the January meeting under the new direction of board president Ike Ornelas.
