JWC Day at Capitol Feb 12th

Local residents are invited to a day at the Texas State Capitol for Jim Wells County Day in Austin sponsored by the Alice Chamber of Commerce/CVB on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.
“This is a great way to support our elected officials in Austin while learning about what is in store for this legislature that affects us locally,” Chamber Executive Director Juan Navejar said. “We have a special luncheon planned with our state representative and senator.”
The cost for the luncheon is $35 and does not include transportation to Austin.
“We are excited to put this together for everyone who would like to be a part of this,” Navejar said. “We have local city and county officials, Alice Jim Wells County EDC, Alice Chamber of Commerce, students from the Coastal Bend College TRiO and the Jim Wells County Leadership class attending so far.”
Resolutions will be read on both the House and Senate floors proclaiming Jim Wells County Day along with the luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn, tours of the capitol and the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library.
