Board President's Memo

R. David Guerrero

The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors opted to re-elected its officers for 2016. As board president, I am leading the group with our newly elected vice presidents: Richard Joslin will oversee Economic Development and will sit on the EDC board of Directors; Albert Martinez will oversee the Convention Visitors Bureau; Ofelia is in charge of Membership; Ann Awalt will represent the Civic groups and Joslin will also serve as treasurer.

This year’s board of directors is quite diverse with representation from the medical, insurance and education, lodging, oil and gas, banking and finance to retail. We look forward to growing the Chamber and assuring that we provide the best service possible.

Our biggest event of the year is right around the corner. This year marks the Chamber’s 79th Anniversary which be celebrated at our annual banquet on April 7th. We are in the process of selecting a guest speaker and will let you know once we have a confirmation. If you are interested in being a table sponsor or donating a gift for the Silent Auction, contact the Chamber for more information. The Chamber staff along with the Alice Ambassadors will be working hard to make sure this year’s banquet is a great success. Applications for Citizen of the Year are now available at the Chamber, please come by the Chamber for the nomination form at your earliest convenience, as the deadline is soon approaching.

If any of our members have a business need, questions or concerns and can’t seem to get a resolution, feel free to contact the Chamber. We may not have all the answers but rest assured we will do our best to try to resolve or help with any issues. If you have promotions within your company or a recognition regarding your business, let us know, we will be more than happy to publish it in our newsletter.
