The Twelve Days of Christmas are right around the corner and bigger and better for the Holidays is the goal of the Alice Chamber of Commerce/CVB and City of Alice.
Two great speakers enlightened a nice crowd about the future of the oil and gas industry for South Texas during the Lucien Flournoy Old Fashion Barbecue last month.
It’s December and my term as Board President comes to a close at the end of the month. It has been a great pleasure to have served as the board president for the past two years.
Our goals for the Chamber were met. We had more than 20 grand openings in 2017.
Shopping during the holiday season can be fun and yet stressful without adding to it. We often do no think twice about our security when pushing a shopping cart. This past weekend I went to a couple of stores and took notice as to how people protect their belongings while shopping.

It is also a time of the year when emotions run high, the weather is a challenge, and when the threat of violence and disease are ever present. Tragically periods of high religious intensity also lead to either passive or active acts of violence.
Alice Housing Authority held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House for one of its new homes built under the HUD grant program. The new home is located on Rose Ann Street.
