“An Organization for anyone interested in cycling."
Bartow Cycling Events is dedicated to promoting the quality of life in Bartow using various cycling events.
OBJECTIVES. Promote Bartow by encouraging a healthy lifestyle through cycling.
ACTIVITIES. Currently, five rides a year, starting in March with the Bloomin Bike Ride, and the Scenic Tour de Tow in September. These road tours have a 16 Mile Family Fun Ride, and a 36 and 63 mile route. Then we have two 125 mile endurance rides which are Memorial Day weekend in May and Labor Day weekend in September. A July 4th 100 mile ride brings you back into soda and watermelon.
The Tour de Tow takes off on Saturday, September 21st, 2013. The Tour de Tow is an on-road cycling tour along the scenic back roads of southern Polk County. Come enjoy a beautiful day of cycling in beautiful historic Bartow!
Saturday - 7:00 am is registration and breakfast 7:45 am Riders Meeting 8:00 am Line up and Drawing for Digital Art Award 8:00 am 37 Mile TowTour & 65 Mile TowTour 8:15 am 16 Mile Family Fun Ride Starts.
Artistic Motion is a drawing from our registered cyclists. Last years winner is this years "poster" person featured in the logo, print materials and t-shirt. Last year's winner who is our 2013 featured cyclist is Mark Lehigh and his daughter Tristen. Who will be this year's winner for next years feature cyclist???
Please park you vehicle at the Oaks Parking Lot. A GPS address for
that is 395 S. Central Avenue.
Helmets are required for all riders!
This year we will be staging the ride on Central between Main and
Summerlin. We will be keeping Central clear of cars and parking but
there is plenty of parking on Central between Summerlin and Parker
and at the Oaks Parking Lot which is right next to the Post Office
which is on Summerlin and Central.
We will be giving away new bikes again to kids who other wise wouldn't
be able to afford one. So far we have provided 65 bikes to kids in need.
The POWER PEDALERS are the kids who will have a huge smile on their
faces as we present them their new bikes. If you know of any one or
company out there who would like to be a sponsor please let me know.
The more money we have the more bikes we give away. At the Bloomin
Bike Ride we gave away 8 bikes. Now that is COOL!
Ride Support! Yes, every route has a SAG vehicle following to be there in case you need us. It will have drinks, snacks, tubes and a pump. Everyone will receive a ride map that will have a number on it for emergencies or problems.
Absolutely! I love trying to get you guys the best food from some of my favorite restaurants here in Bartow. You will have plenty to eat to help you recover from your ride.
For more info please call Trish Pfeiffer at 863.640.1024.
