LRC ANNOUNCES SUMMER KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM DATE
The Learning Resource Center of Polk County, Inc. (LRC) offers kindergartners a summer opportunity to prepare for academic success with Camp READY!

LRC’s Camp READY!, funded by United Way, is designed to build pre-reading and kindergarten-readiness skills through experiential learning centers that include art, music and movement, cooking, and reading-readiness. On average, students who attended the full four-week program have demonstrated learning gains of seven months in vocabulary development.

Rising and repeating kindergartners are invited to attend at one of 10 Polk County sites. Each camp will take place Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. for four weeks, with the exception of Poinciana’s camp, which will take place Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Dates vary by location.

SAVANNAH COURT SENIOR HEALTH FAIR
     Savannah Court of Bartow, 290 Idlewood Ave., is offering a Senior Health Fair on Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
     Free blood pressure checks, medication information, full prevention screening, Medicare information, blood sugar checks and hearing screening will be provided.
     A hydration station, freebies and door prizes will also be given away at the Fair.

TINDALE OLIVER PARTICIPATING IN RED NOSE DAY, 2016

Tindale Oliver (@tindaleoliver) is proud to announce its participation in this year’s Red Nose Day (@rednoseday), a national campaign dedicated to raising money for children and young people who live in poverty.
 
Tindale Oliver’s Tampa office will host an employee bake sale and luncheon to benefit Red Nose Day on May 26, 2016. All proceeds benefit Red Nose Day’s 11 partner organizations in the U.S and overseas.
 
“Tindale Oliver strives to create a workplace that encourages social responsibility and giving back. We are proud to support Red Nose Day and make a difference in the lives of children across the world, and we look forward to a fun event,” said Bill Ball, Chief Operating Officer.
 
On Red Nose Day, people and organizations around the county participate by wearing red noses and organizing “FUN-raisers” to spread awareness and raise money. The purpose of Red Nose Day is to bring people together to support a common cause through fun and laughter. The campaign has raised more than $1 billion globally in the past 25 years. O’Malley is a handsome, young man and is looking for a forever home. He is shy but with a little patience, will come around. O’Malley could use a quiet area to adjust, but once is comfortable, he will request head rubs and cheek scratches. He would be best suited in a home without small children. Ty is an American Bulldog/mix and he is a high energy, playful guy. He can be unsure at first but once he warms up he's pumped and ready to go. He wants an adventure buddy to take him out and show him how great the world can be. Ty needs to build some confidence so making everything positive for him would be ideal!
