Champions Cup Keynote Speaker Is Adam Putnam

Mosaic was the top winner for the 2011 Greater Bartow Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100’s Champions Cup Awards, winning the Business of the Year category.
Jeff Kincart of last year’s winner, A-C-T Environmental and Infrastructure, said that Mosaic “emerged as not only the world leader in fertilizer production, but continues to be a major player in the Bartow area by providing jobs, and offering unparalleled community support as well as sustaining new opportunities for growth and development.”
Accepting the award for Mosaic, Jeff Dodson, Mosaic’s Reclamation Superintendent, said that employees are encouraged to become involved in their communities.
The evening’s keynote address was given by Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Adam Putnam, who spoke on economic development issues such as trade opportunities, detrimental pest infiltration into Florida, and renewable energy sources. Commissioner Putnam also highlighted community events such as the Crickette Club parade and carnival, lawding the club’s efforts for the last half century. “It’s part of what makes Bartow the Center of the Universe,” he told the crowd of about 300 people at the Peace River Country Club. Following the address, Commissioner Putnam was given a Bartow Chamber “Spirit of Bartow” award by Dr. Tom McMicken of Watson Clinic.
