BIZ KIDS GEARING UP FOR A GREAT SUMMER!

What is the amount of the boost for the summer?
$15 per one hour class session per student; or $30 per two-hour class session per student. Each class may have up to six students.
Here’s an example of how the boost works: A merchant may teach three students a one-hour class in the morning session, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m., and get a boost of $45; then teach a two-hour session in the afternoon, 1:00-3:00 p.m., to five students and get a $150 boost. Total amount of the boost for the day: $195. (Number of students in a class may vary.)

What are the class days, hours? Ages of students?
The merchant or organization may choose to teach kids about business in one- or two-hour blocks of time, on any or all Tuesdays for six weeks from June 16 through July 21. The class sessions are as follows:
Tuesdays: June 16, June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21Class Sessions (2 hours): 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and/or 1:00-3:00 p.m. - $30 per boost per child per sessionClass Sessions (1 hour): 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. and/or 1:00-2:00 p.m. - $15 per boost per child per sessionAges: Entering third grade through those who have completed the eighth grade.

How are the boosts distributed?
Students will bring a voucher to the class for entry. Sometime between the end of the Biz Kids program on July 21 through July 30, 2015, merchants turn in all vouchers to the Greater Bartow Chamber of Commerce, 510 N. Broadway. A check will be issued to the merchant by August 15, 2015.

What do I teach?
Classes can be segmented into showing children how your particular business is run and may include a hands-on craft project, game, video or demonstration, preferably related to the business. It could be something as simple as coloring or drawing. In the past, businesses have let the kids bake their own cookies or handmake a collar for their dogs.
