PRESIDENT'S CORNER: DR. McMICKEN

Dr. Thomas E. McMicken is a Bartow Icon. All you have to do to find out about him is to ask just about anyone you know in Bartow - and they'll have a Dr. McMicken story to share.
All of Bartow is invited to a celebration of his 50 years of medicine on Saturday, July 15, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Bartow Civic Center. The drop in reception will have a short presentation / program beginning at 4:00 p.m. No RSVP is necessary. Hope to see you then!

MADRID ENGINEERING GROUP, INC., a leading Florida geotechnical engineering and Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) consulting firm, announces the 25th anniversary of the company’s founding.

The company has achieved success in a number of different ways and plans to continue its success for years to come, says Larry Madrid, its founder. It has completed nearly 10,000 projects throughout Florida, some out of state, and a few internationally. it has grown numerically in terms of number of employees, equipment, and capabilities. Madrid Engineering has also grown in the number of clients and the size of jobs we are able to complete. Finally, our reputation for engineering skill and problem solving has grown over the years.

“Madrid Engineering has achieved this 25-year milestone with the help of our employees, including several who have left the company over the years to launch their own companies, finish their degrees, and take on successful management roles at other engineering companies and at the FDOT. Our employees make the difference”, said Larry Madrid.

The company offers subsurface investigations with an in-house fleet of drilling and sampling equipment; laboratory analyses of soil, rock, and concrete; and technical expertise in the areas of geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, geological science, environmental compliance, and extensive construction inspection services.

Awards

The company has received many prestigious awards over the years. We were honored by the American Society of Civil Engineers, Ridge Branch/Florida Section, with Project of the Year in both 2014 and 2016. Madrid Engineering is recognized as an Employer of Distinction with Career Source Polk, having been honored as a Best Place to Work for 4 of the last 5 years. In 2008, we won the Diversity Award of the Bartow Community Relations Committee, and individual awards include the Spirit of Bartow Award; the Golden Garland Entrepreneurship Award, and the George W. Harris Jr. Leadership Award.
