THERE'S ART IN BartOW!

Abraham "People's Choice" and Sheriff Grady Judd Favorite. — with Constantino Napoleón Burciaga.

Inaugural "Chalk Walk" in the Park was Amazing!

“Chalk Walk” in the Park, presented by Frost Van den Boom, PA, was Polk County’s first professional chalk art event; and it was an amazing two days of art gone amuck in Polk County's Capital City, Bartow.

Patel, Greene & Associates, PLLC, The Ledger Media Group and Hall Communications also helped bring the new arts event to the main crossroads in central Bartow - at Fort Blount Park, last weekend.

Professional performance chalk artists who came from as far away as Georgia, Virginia, Indiana and Mexico made use of Bartow's sidewalks and created some of the most mind-blowing masterpieces you may have ever seen drawn on concrete.

The woman behind the movement of having chalk masterpieces brought to life in Bartow is Bartow City Commissioner Trish Pfeiffer, an artist and lifelong supporter of the arts. First bringing the idea up to Main Street Bartow several years ago, Pfeiffer worked hard to make her dream realized. Thousands of visitors garnered the rewards of her hard work, and the hard work of Main Street Bartow, and the Bartow Art Guild.

Fort Blount Park last weekend was a place you and your family could view a unique art form, and your kids were encouraged to participate by drawing their own masterpieces. The creative atmosphere of art brings out the best in all of us, Pfeiffer remarked. And if you hurry, you can still catch it before the rain arrives!

Chamber President Emily Spath Clark tries out the 3D art by Jennifer Chaparro.
