Benson Making History

Please contact us at (520)302-2796. 100% of everything raised will go to the hospital. Members of ESA (Epsilon Sigma Alpha) a service group founded in 1929 are organizing the walk. We are basically the female equivalent to the Lion’s club and we now accept males. Our nearest chapter is in Sierra Vista.

Since 1972, the research done at St. Jude hospital has raised the survival rate of childhood leukemia from 4% to 94% and the overall survival rate for all childhood cancers from 20% to over 80%. They share their research and treatment protocols with all medical facilities around the world and they are used here in Arizona. Due to medical privacy laws, we can’t say if any children from Cochise County have gone to the hospital. But, if the worst happened and your child were diagnosed with cancer, they would first go to the U of A cancer center, which uses St. Jude protocols. If unable to be treated there, the entire
family would be sent to Memphis. The family would not receive a bill for any of the transportation, food, lodging or medical costs. Everything is covered by St. Jude and that is possible because we have walks like this.
