Go Bald for St. Baldrick's Foundation
Nine Fine Irishmen at New York-New York Hotel & Casino invites the public to help shave the way to a cure by going bald during the 3rd Annual St. Baldrick’s Day fundraiser on Saturday, March 3. People of all ages are welcome to attend this event where the bravest volunteers will shave their heads on the Brooklyn Bridge to raise money for St. Baldrick’s Foundation for Cancer Research and bring attention to the many children battling cancer. This outdoor event will feature entertainment for the entire family including a live shaving station; food and beverage specials; live music throughout the event; and face painting and balloon animals for children. Prior to event day, shavees can raise money by forming a team and requesting donations through the St. Baldrick’s website, or an individual can simply register at the event with the $50 minimum required donation. As a thank you for participating, shavees will receive a free pint of Guinness or a Jameson cocktail (must be 21 years or older) from Nine Fine Irishmen along with a goody bag that includes a complimentary rollercoaster ride, t-shirt and hat as well as other special offers. Donors who love their locks don’t have to shave their heads. Art Festival of Henderson
Art Festival of Henderson! Juried Art Show featuring several new artists along with returning artists from past annual events. Enjoy two stages with entertainment - one family stage and one variety stage. Piazza Colori (Public Square Colors) an Italian Street Painting Festival will be part of this year’s festival again. Artists are free to create, with chalk pastels, a drawing on the concrete - just like graffiti. Drawings are created in full view of the public, who are encouraged to talk to the artists or 'kibitz'. The fact that the paintings disappear at the end of the fest makes their beauty even more appealing. Anyone, from children to senior citizens, can become an artist for the weekend. You do not need to be a professional. For more information on Piazza Colori or to become involved go to www.greenvalleyrotary.org. Food and Beverage vendors as well.
