Dr. Sketchy's Night of Film Noir
Dr. Sketchy's is an international arts organization that presents life drawings sessions in a fun, unique way. The Boulder City branch presents their first session on May 7th in The Spillway at the Boulder Dam Hotel. Everyone is welcome to bring their art supplies. Dr. Sketchy's supplies a model in a staged film noir scene for various poses over a 2 hour period. The session includes music and optional beverages. (This is designed for adults - not really suitable for children).This branch is run by Lee and Anita Lanier.

Native Seed Collection Day
Learn about native plants and the restoration process at Lake Mead National Recreaton Area.  Join park staff collecting native seeds to be planted at future restoration projects.  Volunteers will be trained on the speific plants the nursery needs seeds for and how to collect them.  Bring a lunch and plan to spend 6 hours in the park.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area is turning 50 this year, and the National Park Service and its partners are throwing a party to celebrate.  Come out to Hemenway Harbor to learn about the park's different recreation opportunities like boat rentals, raft trips, bicycle tours, kayak lessons, SCUBA driving, fishing, hunting and more.  There will be activities throughout the day, including cruises on Lake Mead, free vessel inspections, demonstrations and the chance to break a world record.
