How about May 6th, that seems to be the best place to start.  As you drive by the government parks, you’ll see quite a buzz as we begin the tremendous job of setting up for such a large event.  It’s always interesting to watch our beautiful lawns transform into marketplaces, stages, rides and car displays.  If you’re a local business in Boulder, you’ll probably get to meet some of the artists that will be in town that week.  They always request information about retail, restaurants, hotels/motels and things to do while they spend the weekend learning more about our quaint town.

Saturday, May 7th, you’re going to want to get out of your pj’s early and head to the park.  Entertainment begins at 9am and won’t quit until we’re exhausted from all the exhilarating fun in the sun.  Throughout the day there will be many locals performing and of course the traditional Little Miss and Mister Contest and the beloved Bark in the Park with proceeds going to See Spot Run again this year.  When you’re not relaxing at the stage you can enjoy the exhilarating carnival rides, jumping on the bungee trampoline, strolling through the Arts and Crafts, Antiques in the Park, the Southern Nevada Rock and Mineral Society’s Rock and Mineral Show, Pandragger’s Rod Run car show and new this year-a daring and heart-pounding performance from Aerial Assault!  Every year each of these fun attractions get bigger and better.  And the best part is, strolling through the event is FREE.  I can’t think of a better way to enjoy spring in BC than a fun, family, festival in the park.

Sunday is my favorite day to walk around the Old Town area and visit with the merchants and restaurants.  You can often see great sidewalk sales and enjoy a few minutes on a shady bench while people-watching as our guests enjoy Boulder City.  As you head back over to the happening event area, the excitement continues throughout the afternoon until sadly the end must come at 4pm.

This year will be the 39th Annual Spring Jamboree.  We’ve come a long way from the first year with simple sidewalk sales in front of Chamber Member businesses. We are grateful for all our members’ support and thank them for allowing us to continue to bring tourism and guests to Boulder City in accomplishing our mission of strengthening the economy.

Crafts and antiques for mom, rides and food for the kids, rock and gem show for dad, entertainment for grandma, and car show for grandpa.  Or should that be the car show for grandma and crafts for dad...well maybe your family members are planning to attend each area of interest...I know I am!

How great it is that the Boulder City residents and guests to our town have supported us in so many ways.  Not only by shopping local with our members, but also by participating in all the special events in our community.  Events bring tourism, tourism brings revenue, and revenue means a healthy economy for BC.

Boulder City is quite lucky to have so many wonderful organizations that provide awesome special events to our residents.  Whether this spring you enjoy strolling through fine art at the Fine Arts Festival,  watching the sun rise over Lake Mead for the Easter Sunrise Service, relaxing in a comfy dining chair at one of the many sidewalk cafes, or joining us at the 39th Annual Spring Jamboree for tons of fun...Boulder City has something to offer everyone.  Don’t miss a thing!!!!
