Eagle Scout Project

Do you know there are children that go to school everyday without or have mismatch shoes?

During the past year, I have had the privilege of serving as the state reporter for the premier organization for student leaders interested in careers in business, Nevada Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). I have also served as the local chapter president for Boulder City High School FBLA, where I attend school as a sophomore. I believe service is important, which is why I also sit as a member for the March of Dimes Youth Council and volunteer for the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce. Helping others and being an involved member of my community is a large part of my life.

I am also currently working on my Eagle Scout project. For my project, I have chosen a shoe drive for Rex Elementary, where more then 85% of the students meet or are below the Clark County School District poverty level.

As I have considered different Eagle Scout projects, my heart is full when I think of the help that we together can give these kids. The principal of Rex Elementary told me about a mother who had come to him asking for shoes in complete humility, then had to be turned away because they had no shoes. This is when I realized that I had to help and this was the project. I have a personal goal that long after my project is complete; I can continue to raise awareness of simple clothing item many of us take forgranted: SHOES.

In this tough economical time, those who could hardly afford shoes before now are having a tougher time. I am asking for your contributions. Your company can help put shoes on an unfortunate child.

If your company carries shoes, were are asking for as many of shoes as you can donate.

You can help by donating money, or new shoes.
You can send all money
Via Mail to P.O. Box 62432.
Boulder City, NV 89005 Shoe Drop of will be from [5/18/2009]-[6/2/2009]

We are estimating that each pair of shoes will cost around $15 to $20 dollars, and shoes sizes ranging from children’s size 5 through adult size 8 /9. Boys and Girls

I, along with Rex Elementary would greatly appreciate any assistance you can be with this project.

In service,
