SLAM THE DAM

Dear Members,

It is with great excitement that Swim Las Vegas, area US Masters Swim Team brings the first open water swim to Lake Mead on October 2, 2010!

Slam The Dam Open Water Swim will feature 3 distances: 8k, 2.4 mile & 1.2 mile and will offer endurance athletes an option to take on the challenge of swimming two events back to back.  The Grand Slam includes an 8k plus 1.2 mile swim while the Super Slam includes the 2.4 mile race plus the 1.2 mile swim

This event has been listed on the top 50 swims on the Daily News of Open Water Swimming and top finishers in our non wetsuit category will be featured on the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame  history books.

We are expecting more than 150 participants and volunteers from across the nation and are looking to help promote Boulder City by offering members of the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce a chance to include complimentary items in the athlete bags or offer raffle items to our participants. Sponsorship will expose your businesses to the diverse and explosively growing multi-sport and open water swimming communities.

We are also looking for boating volunteers to help support athletes on the course. If you are interested in supporting this inaugural event, please contact Kara Robertson.

 Yours in H20,

 Kara Robertson
