Mixer and Ribbon Cuttings

Be sure to set aside time to attend the 8th Anniversary celebration at the Nevada Veterans Home tomorrow night at 6pm.  (8/12/10)  Once again we will be treated to scrumptious food, a wonderful program, and heart warming visits with the Heroes that reside there.

Immediately following the traditional cake cutting and tour of the facility, we will venture out to the front of the Home to snap a ribbon cutting picture with Krystal Kleen auto detailing.  Dan Thompson, husband of Kris Thompson from BC Florist, is now servicing your car detailing needs.  Jump in the picture and wish Dan and Kris all the best!

Friday morning at 9:30am (8/13/10) we will be welcoming back our long, lost friends to Central Market!!  Wayne and Helen are back and better than ever.  We're excited to wish them our best, so join us for a ribbon cutting to start things off right.

It's the Quacking Event of the Year!!!

Kenducky Derby at Cascata to benefit Lend-A-Hand.
The prestigious Cascata Golf Club will host the Boulder City Sunrise Rotary’s “Kenducky Derby” on September 11th.  Guest will witness the thrill of 2500 racing yellow ducks floating down the streams at Cascata for outstanding prizes.  This year’s first place prize is a fabulous one-week vacation in a spectacular private home in Hawaii.  This trip includes airfare for the lucky winner and a guest.  Ladies in attendance are encouraged to bring a bit of Southern flair to the desert and dress in their derby finest and enter our Hat Gala which will be judged by three celebrity judges with cash prizes for the top three participants.  Your entry fee includes not only a contribution to Lend-A-Hand of Boulder City, six ducks in the race, the Hat Gala, dinner, dancing, and a beautiful Cascata sunset, but you are also entered into a cash raffle in which $5000 will be awarded with first place winning $2500.  Don’t miss this social event of the year.  To purchase your individual ducks for $10 or a “Quake Pack” which provides six racing ducks for $50, or if you are interested in attending, please call Doug Scheppmann at 373-3745.  This event is all that it Quacked up to be.  Space is limited so please call today

The new Member to Member benefits program is ready for you!

We have had great success in the past with the Member to Member benefits program.  As technology improves and our webmaster creates more avenues for us to take advantage of in sharing our messages, we too must advance and do more to grasp these opportunities.

I challenge you to take a few moments and create e-coupons for your business.  I realize not all of our members will have something to offer, but you can review the "Member to Member" section of the Member's Area to see what others are offering to Chamber Members.  Maybe you will find something you can take use for you or your employees.

If you're not sure where to begin, you're welcome to call the office, ask for Jill, and I'll walk you through it.  For those of you familiar with the website, and willing to take the challenge, simply log in to the Chamber's Member's Area.  Go to the lower section of the page and click on the "Member to Member" link.  There you can see who has coupons, get some great ideas, and click to open and print those.  If you'd like to create your own, go to the "Manage Website" button just above that section.  Scroll to the Broadcasting section and click on "Coupon Creator".  Next click "Add Coupon" and follow the steps.  Be sure to check the box that says "Publish in Member to Member Coupons".  It will take just seconds to make.  Once you've got it, you can then share it via Twitter, or simply notify me and I'll be sending out notifications in future e-blasts that members have new postings.   What better way to build networking opportunities than to reach out to other members of our Chamber and offer them discounts as a way to say thank you for being a part of our Chamber community.

Remember you can create as many coupons as you'd like.  Also remember to take advantage of the regular coupon postings that are viewed by the general public.  Those coupons are created the exact same way, just do not check the box for member to member.  The general public will see and print your coupon offering them a special or discount.

Let me know what you think of this program.  We're hoping to see it become a wonderful member benefit and networking program.
