ATTENTION: NDOT Road Maintenance 3/24-3/25
The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is applying a chip seal asphalt treatment to State Route 172 from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., March 24 and 25, in Boulder City. The route provides begins approximately 5 miles northeast of downtown Boulder City and heads eastward following the curvy mountainside headed towards Hoover Dam. Maintenance crews will apply $38,000 of chip seal between Mile Marker 0 and 1.3, resulting in one lane of traffic being left open at a time. A pilot car operation will shuttle vehicles back and forth. Delays are expected.

“Chip seal is a pavement surface treatment that combines layers of asphalt with fine aggregate,” said NDOT spokesman Tony Illia. “It’s a cost effective preservation solution that creates a more durable and longer lasting road bed.”

Motorists should use caution while travelling through the work zone, heed construction signage, and take alternate routes, if possible. For current road information go to: www.nvroads.com
