Boulder City...There's an APP for that!!!

Yes, that's right.  Boulder City will shortly have a FREE App that can be downloaded onto smart phones.  The program is in creation now, will go to beta testing shortly, and will be unveiled as soon as possible.

"Boulder City Chamber is stepping into the light ages of technology by offering a free app on cell phones that will direct interested Boulder City guests to and through all of our businesses and attractions in Boulder City", stated Chamber CEO, Jill Lagan.

This new member benefit will not only put you right in the palm of your potential customer's hand, but it will also put Boulder City on the map as being one of the first communities to have an app used for tourism information.  This new technology will provide our members with the marvelous benefit of advertising on a medium that we all know will be the wave of the future.  At some point, everyone will have smart phone technology at their disposal and will be doing their research on that phone...not necessarily the laptop or yellow pages.  It is estimated that by 2012, there will be over 680 million smart phones in use.  That's more than all the computers in the world.  It's no wonder smart phones have become a key target market.

All members will be included on the Boulder City App and will have the opportunity to enhance their position with added value advertising.  There will be GPS map technology with turn-by-turn driving instructions, narrated walking tour features, push notifications, photo slideshow with videos and audio, hotel information with a photo and description, restaurant detail pages, public parking and restroom maps, calendar of events, social media links, and more.  All of this without burdening you with one more thing to add to your list of "to-do's".  All data in the app will be fed from your Chamber Traffic Catcher Site that you currently maintain.

Watch your email notifications for more information coming shortly.  The Chamber is very excited to be able to offer this cutting edge marketing to its members and future members.  What a great time to be a member of the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce!

Boulder City Community Club Saves the Day!

Community Club President Phyllis Holsey stated in the monthly meeting last Thursday, that nearly $6,000 was donated to local organizations in order to aid them in their individual missions.

The Community Club's mission is to serve the community through planning profitable projects so as to give time and money to worthy community needs, to present programs and offer activities which inform and entertain, and to serve as an outlet for talents and special interests of members.

They successfully put on the Doodlebug Bazaar each December and then use the funds generated to donate to worthy causes throughout the year.  Recipients this grant session included $1000 to Emergency Aid, $500 to Lend A Hand, $250 to the Cancer Closet at Boulder City Hospital, $500 to the Senior Center, $500 to the children's scholarship program at the Recreation Department, $1000 to the lock box project at the Boulder Fire Station, and $2000 to the Park and Rec Department facilities for new tables and chairs.

"We'd love to challenge other organizations, businesses, and private individuals to look for worthy programs and donated their time, talents and possibly funds.  When Emergency Aid calls, we know we must say yes and work hard to make sure we have the money to assist.  We'd love to see others do the same", commented Holsey.
