Mix it up with the Police Department

The Chamber's monthly Mixer will be tomorrow, Wed., October 14th at 6pm at the Boulder Ciy Police Department.  They have just complete their remodeling and are anxious to share their new facility with the public.  We hope to see you there.  Below is a quick message from Chief Finn:

To accommodate the Chamber of Commerce members who will be attending the Mixer here at the PD next Wednesday we will leave the side door (California Avenue side stairway) to the PD open and will have someone there to greet everyone. We only ask that the members not park in the "police" parking spaces since they are used 24/7 by my officers. They can certainly park in any of the other "open parking" spaces in the parking lot. I'm sure the credit union wouldn't mind if your members parked in the "employees only"
parking lot since it will be empty for the night.

Sad News

With sincere regret, I  inform you that the Chamber has lost it's longest running supporter of over 44 years.  Mrs. Marilyn Doty passed away last Thursday and she will be deeply missed.  She was not only a tough business woman that mentored me, but also a very kind-hearted woman that supported all the events in Boulder City.  Our thoughts and prayers are now with her family.

Cut & Run

It's still not too late to register for the 5k Walk/Run on the newest segment of the River Mountan Loops Trail.  Come ride the train at 8:00am out to the ribbon cutting that will take place above Railroad Pass at 9:00am.  Finish line will be at the Southern Nevada Railroad Depot where you can pick up your cars.

Entry for the race will be $20 and you can run, walk, bike, roller skate, etc.  Prizes will be awarded to the first three runners that complete the course.

Thank you to the River Mountain Loops Trail Partnership for sponsoring the train ride, to Albertson's for the sheet cake and water donations and the Chamber for the prize money.  We'd also like to thank the City of Boulder City and it's contractors for doing a PHENOMENAL job on the Boulder City sections of trail.
