The Chamber's Annual Installation and Awards Dinner started off our year with with a big BANG! The new officers were installed and the annual awards were distributed with honor. To end the night, we had a wonderful new fundraiser that led to a great increase in revenue.
This year's Board of Directors are: Chair Person-Julie Boyster, Willow Beach Resort Past Chair-Chuck Pickens, St. Jude's Ranch for Children Izzy Collett, Desert Adventures John Kolesar, John Kolesar Insurance Services-AFLAC Todd Cook, Boulder Dam Brewing Company Larry Shepherd, Horseman's Association Stuart Litjens, Boulder Boats Geoff Baughman, Baughman Insurance Agency-Farmers Beth Molburg, Chamber Insurance and Benefits Christy Springgate-Hill, Tri-City Services and Stars and Stripes Helicopters Lee Hagen, Auto Specialists Honorary Members: Connie Mancillas, Nevada Commission on Tourism Bob "Chief' Sears, Retired Fire Chief
The award recipients this year were: Jill's Jewel Award went to Carol Campbell, a volunteer in the Chamber office for over 25 years. Business of the Year went to Albertson's Eva McGarvey Award for outstanding service to our community went to Dorothy Helm and Peggy Darnold Youth Community Achievement Award went to Boulder City High School National Honor Society Alice Isenberg Memorial Award for contributions to Boulder City went to Connie Ferrarro and the Bob Sear's Lifetime Achievement Award recognizing numerous years of service to the Chamber deservingly went to Connie Mancillas. Chair Julie Boyster's theme for this year is "Community Service is Not a Crime". We look forward to seeing some of her projects come to fruition and assist not only the Chamber, but all organizations and residents of Boulder City. Member News
