About Us

Books & Beyond: A Mountain Marketplace

Located in Old Town Chester, Books & Beyond, once called B & B Booksellers, is a member of the American Booksellers Association’s IndieBound Program and features a general category bookstore, a children’s book room, a game room, men's & women's clothing, unique gifts and cards, a dry cleaning service, FREE wifi and the much loved Back Room Art Gallery.

The Bookstore

The Lake Almanor Basin is home to year round recreation that ranges from hiking, biking, golfing, fishing, hunting, water sports, and bird watching, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. At Books & Beyond you will find the information you need to enjoy it all: local area guidebooks, field guides, animal, nature, geologic and historical information.

The Back Room Art Gallery

The Back Room Art Gallery is home to rotating exhibits of some of the Lake Alamanor Area's finest art, photography, carvings, pottery, pine needle baskets and fabric art.

How To Find Us

B & B Booksellers is located on Main Street (Hwy 36) in Old Town, Chester at the base of Lassen Peak and near the shores of Lake Almanor. Fly in to our Airport at Roger's Field, drive in on the Volcanic Legacy Scenic By-Way Hwy 36, 44 & 89, or, take scenic route 32 through Deer Creek Canyon to Hwy 36.
