Community Collaborates on Calendar

The January 2010 Lake Almanor Cultural & Recreational Council Summit meeting was hosted by Seneca Hospital and the Chamber of Commerce.  Service organizations and event planners gathered to collaborate on a comprehensive Calendar of Events plan to improve community participation, communication and event planning.

Present at the summit were representatives from the Rotary, Lions, Elks, Community Chorus, Plumas Arts, Recreation Department, Plumas County, Chester Progressive, Feather River Fine Arts Association, Spring Wellness Fair, business members and the Chamber of Commerce.

A consensus was built around the need for collaboration both within the community and with neighboring communities and organizations. The Chamber made a presentation of its Web Calendar applications and the ease of on-line submissions. Included in the presentation were marketing tips from the Chamber's 2010 Marketing Plan and how to submit press releases to local media outlets.

The Cultural and Recreational Council meets the 4th Tuesday of each Month at 10 am in the Chamber Conference room. Attendance is open to all.
