2010 Fireworks Fund

It takes $13,500 to light up the skies over Lake Almanor for the Annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.  For many years adequate funds for the Fireworks Spectacular were raised through the generous giving of many individuals, businesses and organizations.  Over the past few years funding for the event declined.  By July of 2009 the Chamber was faced with a 2-year $9,000 deficit.

At that time, the Chamber felt that that to discontinue the event  would not only be disappointing for the community and area visitors but that doing so could have a significant negative impact on the Basin's tourism based, local economy.  Reserve funds were used to make it happen, knowing that 2009 could be the last year for Fireworks.

In August of 2009, the development community of Foxwood stepped in to try to keep the fireworks tradition alive by donating up to $7,000 in matching funds to the event.    Then Chamber members Rob Hart, Jay Sabelman, Linda Rouland and Phyllis Salvadore-Fregoso joined together with Cloe, to raise the matching funds.  To date, they have raised $2,500 toward the matching funds.

In February, with $4,500 to go, the Board decided to set an April 15th deadline, the date a contract for the show would need to be signed.
